Supplementary's Tab Musical Elements

This week's #techtiptuesday features the Supplementary's Tab Musical Elements and Theory Animations, focusing on Animated Musical Elements. By exploring this, you will discover concise, animated videos covering eight musical elements: beat, dynamics, rhythm, pitch, tempo, chords, texture, and timbre. In my classes, I often utilize videos on beat, dynamics, tempo, chords, and texture. These animations are brief, straightforward, and perfect for even my youngest students. They are not too wordy so that when my students leave the classroom and are asked about the beat, they can tell you that they feel the beat of the music when they nod their heads or tap their feet to the steady speed of the music.

I find these videos invaluable when I'm away and a substitute teacher is covering, as a designated station in my music room, or for reinforcing musical concepts previously taught and practiced. To enhance learning, I have created coloring sheets for the students to engage with the video, color a scene from it to remember the information, and take it home or share it on Seesaw for their families and caregivers to enjoy their music class achievements.

This is just a glimpse of what's in the Supplementary tab. Keep an eye out for more MFE tech tips on #TechTipTuesday next week as we delve deeper into MFE together!
