Sia's Unstoppable Boomwhacker Play-Along Level 2
🎶 Looking for a Fun and Engaging Boomwhacker Play-Along for Your Students? 🎶
If you’re ready to take your music class to the next level, I’ve got something exciting for you! Last week, I shared the “Sia Steady Beat Boomwhacker Play-Along to Unstoppable - Level 1” (https://amymburns.com/elmusedtech/2025/3/9/sia-steady-beat-boomwhacker-play-along-to-unstoppable-level-1), where your students played steady beat patterns using Boomwhackers on notes D, E, F, and A. This week, I'm introducing Level 2, featuring more challenging rhythms and an expanded range of Boomwhacker notes!
In this Level 2 version, students will tackle dotted eighth notes followed by sixteenth notes, alongside the steady beat quarter notes they learned before. It's a nice level-up for building rhythm and coordination while still keeping the energy high! 🎶✨
What’s New in Level 2?
Challenging Rhythms: Dotted eighth notes and sixteenth notes mixed with steady quarter notes.
Expanded Notes: Boomwhackers used include A, C# D E F F# G# A B C#’ D’ E’ F’ and F#’.
Layered Play-Along: Multiple notes are layered, so you’ll want to split the Boomwhackers into high and low groups for a balanced sound.
Some Helpful Teaching Tips:
The note B is used sparingly, so be sure to emphasize it when it appears.
Take advantage of the layering effect in the play-along. Divide the Boomwhackers into high and low groups (A, C#, D, E, F, F# for low; G#, A, B, C#’, D’, E’, F’, F#’ for high).
