Experimenting with Moises.AI Voice Studio
I have used moises.ai (https://studio.moises.ai/) for over a year now, but today was the first time I decided to experiment with the Voice Studio. This plugin transforms the timbre of an original vocal recording to mirror the style of one of their AI voice models.
Some things I discovered:
Use a vocal track and take out the other tracks (like drums, guitar, etc). Since moises.ai can split tracks, you can do that within the program.
This is helpful because if you do not, the AI voices try to imitate the drums as well as the voices.
Use the fine-tuning buttons to help tune the AI voices to the original voice track.
How to use this in a classroom:
Guided discussions: Discuss with your students the comparisons and contrasts of the original recorded voice with the AI voice.
Discuss the pros and cons of this tool
Have a shy singer? Have them sing into the program and then listen to the AI voices Moises chooses to emulate their voice.
Copyright discussions for middle schoolers and higher:
The voice models are royalty-free
The second example can be used outside of the program.
But, the first example I used cannot because the song is copyright-protected.
